Artist MLAK x Portia Sarris
MLAK x Portia Sarris have collaborated on two bodies of work: Pretty Bones and B EVE.
Pretty Bones brings together Karlee Mackie (MLAK) and Portia Sarris. Through a variety of mixed mediums and materials, the artists invite viewers on a journey of introspection of resilience within the human experience inspired by the words of musician Barry Mclay.
B EVE is a collaborative body of work that flirts with the conventional stigma and perceptions of the female vagina. By removing the word lie out of the word believe, what remains are the letters B EVE. This a play on the key biblical figure Eve, and the stories that form foundational notions of the first woman, exploring what she traditionally represents. Bringing light to the collective conditioning and associations to the vagina, artist MLAK and Portia Sarris aim to celebrate natures portal to earth through photography and fine art.
