Frank Miles

Frank Miles specialises in Bronze Sculpture, his work has been exhibited in over 60 solo and group exhibitions and numerous sculpture competitions around the world. Since 1985 he has been commissioned to complete public bronze works internationally, and most recently completed commissions for the Gold Coast City Council and Ballina Shire Council on the east coast of Australia.

Frank Miles was born in 1946 in Zimbabwe, a lifelong intimacy with nature is captured in all his wildlife sculptures and it is that which gives them such a presence in private, public and corporate collections worldwide. Formal studies in Zoology and Botany have given the artist the skills to produce strikingly life-like sculptures, but he is equally adept at modern and abstracted styles.

From 1976 to 1979 Miles studied American casting methods and was the first to use the Ceramic Shell, Lost Wax process reproducing bronze artwork in Southern Africa. From 1980 to 2000 he managed his own company creating a non-ferrous Artistic Foundry for the productions and completion of bronze sculptures. The artist produces limited bronze editions, after which the moulds are completely destroyed.
