Caroline Jones

Caroline Jones is a painter and art tutor residing in the Nelson region of New Zealand. With a background in Painting and Theory of Art from Rhodes University in South Africa, she was mentored by Noel Hodnett. Her journey into art began unexpectedly during a journalism degree, sparked by a transformative drawing assignment at a cemetery.

Switching her focus to a Bachelor of Fine Art degree, she gained recognition in the South African art scene, winning awards and having her work featured in TV series and international documentaries. After completing a Master of Fine Art, she immigrated to New Zealand in 2000, settling in the Tasman Region.

Over the years, she has showcased her artwork in solo exhibitions at Red Gallery in Nelson, exploring both cityscapes and New Zealand landscapes. Additionally, she has contributed to mural projects locally and internationally, blending her artistic talents with community engagement.
